When I joined Scan.com, the NHS had a waiting list crisis. Patients were waiting months for MRI and CT scans. Scan.com's proposition was compelling, find a private scan centre near you, book fast, skip the queue.
The problem was the experience didn't match the promise. There was a website where you could search for providers. After that, nothing. Bookings were handled by email. Practitioners managed diaries manually. There was no portal, no communication layer, no design system, no product. I was the first designer hired to build it.
