Stripe already won the object. Email, card, a purple button. Tender keeps that shape and spends the craft on Motion: a card that fills as you type, a flip for CVC, a total that springs, a button that becomes a check. Nothing is charged.
How to use it
- Pick a good. The total springs to the new price.
- Add a courtesy if you like. The line item appears, the amount follows.
- Type a card, or hit Fill test card. Watch the preview and focus CVC to flip it.
- Pay. The button processes, then a check.
Familiar on purpose
Inventing a new object for paying is a fun afternoon and a bad product. People already know this surface. The remainder is whether it feels like a form you survive or a moment that cares you are there.
Motion is that remainder. Not decoration on top of Stripe’s fields. The card is a preview of what you are typing. CVC lives on the back, so the card turns around. The pay action has a duration you can feel. Reduced motion keeps the states and drops the choreography.
This is a Lab prototype. A real charge would still go through a processor. The argument is that the hosted page does not get to be the ceiling on how that moment feels.
